wow i forget that having an artistic talent for song writing goes hand in hand with a talent for just normal writing. this is incredible and so beautifully written. i love the way you put feelings into words. i’ve also always found january so overwhelming and felt like there’s so much pressure for immediate change and growth so this was very validating to read. so glad you’re back on here🙂↕️🙂↕️
related to so much of this, cyclical patterns of depression/isolation and how they coincide with the seasons has been a big theme for me too. can’t wait for tour, my friend! sending you love and a hug ❤️
Great writing and honesty as per Alix, the analogy of January feeling like a comedown is superb. Also enjoyed your reasoning for using a polaroid camera. Somehow missed the release of Bug but it's a really sweet song, always fun to hear Ireland referenced.
happy you’re feeling better! also i also was/still somewhat am(?) a star wars fan! needless to say, if anyone mentions anything from star wars, i’ll turn into a nerd and talk about it endlessly
also, any book recommendations? i should start reading again 💕
alix we have the same taste in media (i was/AM very into harry potter star wars etc) and i’ve also been trying to get into anime !! i also really like sci-fi fantasy stuff. what are your recs PLEASEE give me the ted talk 🙏
YAYYY copy and pasting my answer from someone else:
if you want to start with a super cute/low commitment one, i regularly watch Kotaro Lives Alone to fall asleep - it’s on netflix and seriously so cute. two of my all time faves are Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan, both on the more violent/gory side i would say so be careful w those!! attack on titan has very little cutesy silly stuff, it’s almost all fantasy war/violence/kinda heavy, demon slayer is still gory but definitely has very cute silly moments which i love. i really really enjoyed March Comes in Like a Lion as well - not sure where it’s available to watch but it’s a really sweet story with creative animation and lovely characters :)
I also dramatically chopped all my hair off early last year (February, I think), and I still longingly stare at old photos of my hair when it was at its longest. I remember as a child, I used to rock a Dora bob with bangs per my mother's request, and although it had its time, I don't think I can do another bob moment anytime soon. Also drop those anime recs!!
bob with bangs as a little kid is so real.
